Adam Clay Smith, Sr. 59, of Ridgecrest, CA, passed away on 11 January 2022. Adam was born on August 21, 1962 to Louie and Melba Smith. During his high school years Adam worked as an Auto Detailer at a local car wash. After graduating Burroughs High School in 1980 he worked for Albertsons as a Produce Clerk. In 1984 he began working for the Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake, CA as an Ordnance Handler, kicking off a 37-year career with the Federal Government. He went on to attend Cerro Coso Community College to obtain his welding certification. This allowed him to achieve his dream job as a welder for the SNORT Track. He also successfully established his private business "Adam's Welding". He is survived by his son Adam Clay Smith Jr., daughter-in law Alyssa Kay Smith, grandson Merrick Clay Smith, granddaughter Mayci Kay Smith, Brother Paul Smith and wife Sharon, Sister Martha Cox and husband Robert, Brother Carl Smith, and Brother David Smith and wife Cathy, 3 nieces and 3 nephews and loving pooch Gracie. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all those who have supported them during this time of loss. Through the generous contributions made, a celebration of his life will be held at the Ridgecrest Fairgrounds Sage Hall on February 4, 2022 from 1400-1900 for those who knew Adam.
