Agnes Duluena Wong, a devoted wife, mother, lola, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully in San Diego on November 10, 2024. She was known for her family-oriented nature, caring spirit, and selflessness. Many would often gravitate to her outgoingness and humor, causing some to seek her for advice and comfort. She enjoyed cooking and hosting, making sure friends and family were well-fed and welcome. She was a good cook and made the best empanadas and lumpia. Agnes' devotion to God was strong and happily served in her St. Ann's Church community. With a giving heart, she would volunteer her time and resources to those in need. She enjoyed spending time outdoors - tending to her plants, walking, and going to the beach when visiting her family in San Diego. Most of all, she treasured her time with her grandson, Jaxon, her pride and joy.
Agnes was born on February 9, 1958 in Agoo La Union, Philippines, where she spent her first 18 years before moving to Guam where she later met her husband, Carlos while working as a cake decorator at American Bakery. They got married in 1987 and later had their daughter, Annabelle. They both moved to San Francisco for two years and later settled in Ridgecrest in 1990 where they had their son, Charles.
Agnes lived in Ridgecrest the majority of her life. She was a manager at the local gas station, Eastridge Market. She later worked as a barista at Starbucks for 20 years where she was loved by many customers and coworkers. She enjoyed interacting with her customers, always having a smile on her face and asking how they were doing. Customers would frequently request her because she knew how they liked their coffee.
Agnes was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in September 2024. She fought hard but eventually passed away in November. Agnes was the heart of the family, a kind and gentle soul, and a light in so many peoples' lives. She will truly be missed. Agnes is survived by her loving husband Carlos, son Charles, daughter Annabelle, son-in-law Jeremy, grandson Jaxon, along with five brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
