Al Alvarado was born in Pleasanton Texas on December 17th, 1938 to Alfred and Helen Alvarado.  He grew up in Fresno, CA. Al served our country in the U.S. Navy.

Al entered his eternal home on August 17th 2023 in Lancaster California, at the Antelope Valley Hospital surrounded with love by his family. Al lived in Ridgecrest, Ca and served this amazing community for over half of his life.  He loved being a part of this community.

He served on the board of The Cerro Coso Community College, Desert Valleys Federal Credit Union, he was President of the Rotary Club of China Lake receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award for his loyalty and leadership and dedication to the ideals of Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, the Rhino's and held Promise Keepers at his home every Tuesday morning for years.

He loved to be outdoors all of his life as he played baseball for years as a child and softball later as an adult, loved to hunt with his sons and friends, enjoyed water skiing with his family and driving his boat on the lake!   Al's greatest passion was playing tennis for decades, he would play once or twice a week until his body couldn't in his latter years.  Al was married to the love of his life Mary Alvarado for over 40 years,  they loved to travel the world together, especially Hawaii and seeing many countries.  One of their greatest and favorite trips was going on the safari in Africa.

Al was an entrepreneur most of his life as he learned his trade of business while in the Navy and being taught by IBM and Remington opening Sand Sierra Business Machines in Bishop, CA then later moving to Ridgecrest Ca in 1977 to establish this business locally.  In 1986 Al and Mary established another business Jewelry To Go, which continues on by their daughter Angela Alvarado and son in law Ryan O'Connor.  Al was a hard worker, a jack of all trades, and loved fixing many things.

He was a family man who loved being a husband, father and grandfather.  Many birthday parties, holidays, and poker games were hosted around the pool and table eating great food cooked by Al and Mary.

Al and Mary were devout Catholics who spent many years serving at St. Ann Catholic Church and school, as well as The All Faith Chapel.  They sent their children to St. Ann's school and many of their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
