"Alice Penelope “Penny” Raymond passed away on May 3, 2026, in North Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 73. She was born on July 17, 1952, in Midland, Texas, to Beverly and George Kirkpatrick.

Penny lived in Ridgecrest, Santa Monica, Las Vegas, and Pahrump throughout her life, with Las Vegas being her longtime home for more than 30 years. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant. Those who knew her best will remember her love of John Wayne, country and western style, sunflowers, her beloved pets, and the deep love she had for her daughter, Cordelia, to whom she often said, “You are my sunshine.”

She is survived by her daughter, Cordelia Raymond; her siblings, Fred Kirkpatrick, Melinda Eash, and Tim Kirkpatrick; Elizabeth Curtis and Jensi Curtis, who were part of her family and for whom she served as legal guardian; and those who cared for her and showed her kindness, including her friend Jack and her neighbor Julie. She was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother.

A memorial service will be held at 10am on what would have been Penny’s 74th birthday, Friday, July 17, 2026, at Desert Memorial Park, 801 S San Bernardino Blvd, Ridgecrest, California. In accordance with her wishes, Penny was cremated and will be laid to rest at the foot of her father's grave, reunited with her parents. Family and friends are invited to bring any photos they may have of Penny to share at the celebration of life following the service."
