In Loving Memory of Ana Babauta Perez Aguon (Dondo/Bodoki)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife, Ana Babauta Perez Aguon (Dondo/Bodoki), on January 6, 2025,at the age of 80.
Ana was born on November 20, 1944, in Agat, Guam, to Joaquin and Maria Perez. Her life was a testament to resilience, hard work, and boundless love. From a young age, Ana embodied a strong work ethic. At just 11 years old, she worked as a beautician's assistant, helping in the salon while supporting her father in his garden and selling produce and fish at the local farmer's market. At 16, she married her beloved husband, Rafael, and together they raised five wonderful children. As a Navy family, they traveled wherever duty called. After Rafael's untimely passing in 1973, Ana settled in Washington, where she met Francisco J. Salas, her lifelong sweetheart. Together, they shared fifty beautiful years.
In 1978, Ana and her family moved to China Lake, California. With determination and grace, she earned her high school diploma and built a fulfilling career as a civilian employee at the Naval Weapons Center. Throughout her career, Ana supported various administrative duties, ultimately specializing in procurement and contract support. She remained dedicated to her work until her retirement.
Ana was the heart of her large, loving family, radiating warmth, kindness, and an infectious joy that brought people together. Her many talents and passions enriched the lives of everyone around her. She found joy in arts and crafts, oil painting, sewing, cooking, refurbishing furniture, and gardening. Her love of spicy and pickled foods was legendary, and she generously shared her delicious recipes and handcrafted gifts with family and friends.
Ana's devotion to her family knew no bounds. She was a pillar of support for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, cheering them on in all their endeavors. Her wisdom, guidance, and unconditional love made her the cherished matriarch of the family. Ana also found joy in playing bingo, spending time with friends, and supporting her local senior citizens' community.
Ana's love, grace, and unyielding spirit touched everyone who knew her. Her memory will forever be a beacon of strength, kindness, and unconditional love.
She is survived by her devoted spouse, Francisco J. Salas; her children, Ralph (Laura), Rosemary, Randy (Briget), Peter, Frann (Albino), and Neddy (Gene); her son-in-law, Millard Lutu, sister-in-law, Teresita Perez; 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Ana was preceded in death by her late husband, Rafael Cruz Aguon; her daughter, Renee-Ann Aguon Lutu; her brother, Diego Perez; and her parents, Joaquin and Maria Perez.
