Andrea "Andy" Fay Scott

November 30, 1946 — April 6, 2023

Andrea "Andy" Fay Scott, 76, of Ridgecrest, CA, passed away on the morning of
Thursday, April 6, 2023, at home with her family at her side.

Andy was born on November 30, 1946, in Superior, WI to Reginald and Doris Titus.
Andy and her family lived in various places including Oklahoma and Pomona, CA, but
ultimately called Downey, CA their home. In 1964, Andy graduated from Warren High
School in Downey, CA.

She welcomed the birth of her first daughter, Cheri, in 1966, and her second daughter,
Denice, in 1967. Andy and her husband, James, "Jim", Scott, were married in 1970 and
enjoyed 52 beautiful years together. They moved to Trona in 1971 and welcomed their
youngest daughter, Cindy, into the world in 1972. The family moved to Ridgecrest in
1977, where Andy and Jim lived for the next 43 years. In 2020, they decided it was time
for a new adventure and moved to Buckeye, AZ. After enjoying their time in Arizona,
Andy and Jim moved back to Ridgecrest in March of 2023.

Andy was always very involved with animals. While her daughters were growing up, the
family was very active in showing paint horses. Andy hauled her daughters up and down
the state of California and to neighboring states being the "horse show mom", where she
could always be found ringside watching her daughters show.

Later in life, she became involved in showing Pembroke Welsh Corgis at AKC dog
shows. Her love for her dogs continued through her pursuits in dog agility and she
became involved in volunteer work with the local 4-H group, where she helped teach
children how to care for their own dogs. Up until a few weeks before she passed, Andy
spent her afternoons playing with her dogs, Cheech and Xochipili, going through the
many tricks she taught them. Her family would receive daily Snapchats from Jim of Andy
playing with her dogs.

Andy worked at Wal-Mart for a little over 20 years. Following her retirement from
Walmart, she pursued multiple side businesses, including candle-making and shirt-
making, just to stay busy. She also found joy in connecting with people through her
ventures. During the last few years, she found her passion for drawing. She loved to
share her art with everyone, including drawing pet portraits for her friends and family.
Many of her friends shared their love for her art and were fond of seeing her drawings
online. Andy beamed with pride when she saw pictures of her art hanging in others' homes.

While Andy held many titles throughout her life, her favorite title was Grandma. Anyone
who spoke to her knew the love she had for her grandchildren. She loved spoiling her
grandkids and told everyone "It was a grandma's right". Her grandkids were her pride
and joy. She made sure that each grandchild was spoiled on their birthdays and they
never went to school with a store-bought Halloween costume. During Easter, Andy would organize an Easter egg treasure hunt, with an elaborate map and personalized Easter eggs for each of her grandchildren.

Andy is preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Reginald Titus.
