Arnold Allen Moline

June 4, 1930 — May 1, 2022

Ridgecrest

Arnold Allen Moline passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 1 st , 2022, at home with his wife Edith at his side. He was born June 4 th , 1930 in Redington, Nebraska to Henry Moline and Effie Muhr, the 3 rd of 6 children.  At the age of 10, they moved to California.

In 1953, he entered the US army during the Korean War.  Upon discharge he met and married May Arlene Rabe in 1955 and began a family in Covina.  Due to his asthma, he was advised by Doctors to leave the smog for better air. Thus, in February 1959 he accepted a job at NOTS, China Lake bringing his wife, daughter Cindy and son Daryl.  Three more children, Curtis, Luana and Joel soon followed.

In 1979, Arnold met and married Melva Wilder and brought 3 Step Children into our family.  Upon Melva's untimely death in 1990, he married Edith Williams in 1991 and 2 more step children were added to our family.

Dad retired in 1985 from China Lake having spent much of his career supporting the Sidewinder program for which he received the Navy Meritorious Service Medal.  He continued to work as a contractor for another 25 plus years as he enjoyed his work tremendously, only retiring again in his 80's when macular degeneration prevented him from continuing. Dad loved his family.  Spending time with family was always a high priority for him. He coached basketball, enjoyed playing chess, tennis, racquetball, and golf and continued all of them for as long as he was physically able.  He had a lifelong love of growing gardens, plants, and trees and was an expert at it.  He was a tremendous giver of his time and knowledge and always available when family or friends needed assistance. He drove the Sunday school bus for years, and a board member at church and enjoyed singing in the choir.  He went on many missions to a multitude of foreign countries to assist in building churches and schools.  He was multi- talented, he could fix your car, build a garage, or a pool, and even became a glider pilot later in life.  He was most of all loved and he will be greatly missed now and forever.

Arnold is survived by his wife Edith, sister Lou Ann (Steve) Asmuth, 4 children, Cindy Moline, Daryl (Jan) Moline, Luana (Scott) Sandy and Joel (Lana) Moline all of Ridgecrest, 4 Step children, Denise Wilder, Diane (Mike) McCasland, Chrystal (Lance) Zaal, Steve (Diane) Williams.  25 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and numerous family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Henry & Effie Moline, brothers David Moline, Norman Moline and Ernest Moline and sister Sharon Bruder; ex-wife May Arlene Allen, 2 nd wife Melva Moline, Son Curtis Moline, Step Daughter Denise Lenchner.
