Bryant Alan Ross passed away on August 15, 2022. He was born July 24, 1952 in Pasay City, Manila, Philippines to Dr. & Mrs. Byron W. Ross, the first American family to enter the Philippines after WWII, per Philippine authorities.
Bryant later attended Bob Jones University before his employment with the Oakland International Airport as a supervisor teaching employees how to paint airplanes. After the World Trade Center disaster on 09-11-01 Bryant entered an architectural design contest for a memorial of 09-11-01 by designing a World Peace Center for use as a multi-purpose international memorial and educational facility to "bring light to darkness, education to ignorance, solutions to problems, healing to sorrows, honor to the victims and a path of peace to the children of tomorrow." His entry (attached) was later selected as one of the top ten designs for inclusion in a book honoring architectural designers for the 09/11 Memorial.
Alan is survived by an older sister, Nancy L. A. Ruhl, and two older brothers, Myron E. Ross and Byron Leland Ross.
A memorial was given in his honor on August 23, 2022. Bryant Ross will be lovingly remembered by many other relatives and friends.
