Caesar Wallace Beckett, Sr., transitioned February 17, 2026 in Ridgecrest, California. Born August 25, 1931 in Manhattan, New York to James O. Beckett, Sr. and Fannie P. Davis. He graduated from Textile High School (Charles Evans Hughes) and later
attended St. Paul’s University earning his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He later received his Master’s degree from UCLA. He served as a draftsman and electrical engineer for New York City Transit and later the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Ridgecrest until retiring in 1996. Affectionately known as “Wally,” he was active in the Inyokern Senior Citizens Center, the Tennis Club of Ridgecrest, Rotary International Club, and an international member of the American Military Engineers. He was an outdoorsman, great chess player, loved playing bingo, and always kept everyone laughing.
Preceded in death by his parents. His uncle Wainwright Beckett and Walter Roberts; his brothers James O. Beckett Sr.; Thaddeus Beckett Sr. (Delores); and nephew Thaddeus Beckett Jr. Caesar leaves to mourn his wife Evelyn B. Beckett; sons Caesar W. Beckett Jr. (Beverly) and Paul A. Beckett (Robin); daughters Belinda and Shannika Beckett; sisters Marsha and Marion Beckett; Mansuita Pillo, Merlyn Hersabelino, Violeta McBroom, Suzette Parks, Jenelyn Raab, Marlon Baylon, Dionicio Baylon, Rodelyn Baylon and four additional in-laws living in the Philippines; one grandson, six granddaughters, seven great-grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, family, and friends.
The family expresses sincere appreciation for the many prayers, acts of kindness, and expressions of sympathy shown during this time of bereavement.
