It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cary Nathan Dabbs, age 71, on April 28, 2024, in his home in Inyokern California.
Cary met the love of his life, his wife Faith, at the age of 14 in 1966. They dated through high school and wed in August of 1972. The couple had 3 children, Cary Michael Dabbs, Kellee Michele Clodt and Candice April Henden.
Cary worked in Trona at the chemical plant for 22 years. He was very active in the men's fast pitch and women's slow pitch softball leagues. He was always the life of every party and loved making the people around him laugh. He had a generous heart and always gave where he could.
Cary and Faith started their own business with Rainbow vacuums in 1998. They moved to Bakersfield where they would spend the next ten years. In 2008 they returned to Ridgecrest to be closer to family and especially their grandchildren. Cary was a very active spectator and cheerleader for all the grandchildren's sports and events. He often posted videos and pictures, no matter the quality, because he was always so proud to share them with everyone.
Cary retired in 2019 from NAVFAC Public Works and Faith followed him in retirement shortly after in 2020. They spent the next 4 years between Atascadero and Ridgecrest following their grandchildren's sports and activities.
Cary always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger—to know him was to love him. His family is so honored to have been blessed with him as a Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Uncle, Papa, Great-Papa, and most of all Friend. We will love and miss him always but will never forget him for the legacy that he has left behind.
Cary is survived by his wife Faith Dabbs, sister Cheryl Polley, daughters Kellee Clodt and Candice Henden, daughter in law Crissy Dabbs, 10 grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Cary was preceded in death by his father Bob Dabbs, mother Geraldine Challenor and son Cary Michael Dabbs.
There will be a Celebration of Life on June 29th at 1:00pm at the Elks Lodge. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Cancer Society for colon and breast cancer research.
