Chuck enjoyed his childhood growing up in the high desert. He attended St. Ann's Catholic School for his elementary/middle school education and graduated from Burroughs High School in 1973. At the end of his high school years, he married his devoted high school sweetheart where he spent all his remaining years here on earth directly by her side. Also, throughout his high school years and thereafter, he apprenticed with his father's business, Cordell Electric, and took college courses. There, he learned the love and passion he had for the construction business and became a general contractor. He partnered with PVC and Cardinal Plumbing for many years. He owned and operated Cordell Construction until the end. He was a Volunteer Fireman for many years. He was an active member of the A-Team, Elks Club, Habitat for Humanity, cooked/fed the homeless every Thanksgiving. He was Director for Indians Wells Valley Water Board for the last several years. He participated in the Wounded Warrior Projects, and was committed to Ridgecrest's Relay for Life for many years.
He hardly ever turned down an opportunity to cook/serve for a good cause in the community. He just loved to serve.
He was blessed with two fun loving daughters, Mandy and Lacey. He lived to enjoy his awesome and entertaining grandchildren; Brooke deGeus (22), Bryce deGeus (18), Alexis Naven(16), Jackson Naven (14), and Avery Naven (13).
