Clinton Philip Boomer was born in Oakland, CA on March 5, 1946, to Merton and Virginia Boomer, who both preceded him in death, as did his first wife of 40 years, Sharon Boomer, and his son in law, David Earle. Clint is survived by his second wife Cathy Boomer, her daughter, Christine Perry (Alonzo), his three children, Jennifer Erle, Scott Boomer (Kristie), Timothy Boomer (Ana), and his 5 grandchildren, Katherine Noasco (Jorge), Andrew Boomer (Eduardo Rangel), and Rebecca, Isaac, and Lily Boomer. He is also survived by his older brother Terry Boomer (Margaret), and younger brother Les Boomer (Jan), sisters in law Norma Yaeger and Marcia Davison, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Clint grew up and spent the majority of his life in Oakland, CA. He was always a hard worker until he became disabled in the aftermath of the Great Earthquake of October 1989. He was a faithful, loving, and supportive husband to his first wife until she passed, and he was equally faithful, loving, and supportive to his second wife, Cathy, and spent the last 12 years of his life with her in Ridgecrest, CA where they were faithful attenders of the Church of the Nazarene.
Clint was known for his big Cheshire Cat grin and was generous, helpful, kind, and full of facts and trivia. He looked forward to family vacations every summer, either at the family cabin in Mount Hermon, camping in Yosemite, or at the family cabin in Pioneer, CA that he helped his father build. He loved to take his kids fishing, swimming, boating, rafting, and also loved picnics in the parks and going to various ice creameries. He loved watching musicals, sports, murder mysteries, etc., playing intellectually stimulating games, and doing crosswords. He loved taking his grandkids to Fairyland, The Discovery Zone, and Chuck E. Cheese. He always had super soakers on hand and loved a good squirt gun fight.
Clint went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2023, where he is finally free from all pain and suffering and joyfully anticipates being reunited with his loved ones.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 19 at the Ridgecrest Church of the Nazarene at 10am. Donations in memory of Clinton can be made to the children's ministries program at the RC Church of the Nazarene, or to the local animal shelter.
