Ridgecrest

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Papa, brother and friend whose wisdom, wit, humor and strength touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

Born on Halloween, October 31, 1946, in Lynwood, California to Dale and Clarice Campbell. His life was full of love, laughter, hard work, and dedication. He was our rock, the patriarch of our family, always there to help and guide us with his common sense, moral compass and generosity that knew no bounds. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam war prior to moving to Ridgecrest in 1971.

A pillar of this community, he was a fearless businessman. He was an HVAC mechanic by trade, the co-founder and owner of Campbell Heating and Air Conditioning, and a founding owner of Ridgecrest Cinemas, and Sierra Lanes. He always gave back to the city he loved, donating his time and money to several foundations, charities and non-profit organizations in Ridgecrest. His passion for business and work could only be matched by his passion for fun.He enjoyed golf, sportfishing, trips to Las Vegas, good music, good food, good whiskey, dancing and traveling the world with his wife Terry.

He accomplished so much professionally, but his true love in life was his family, his wife of 59 years, his four children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will cherish forever the memories of love, laughter, warmth, security and adventure he gave us. David Campbell is survived by, the love of his life, his wife Terry Campbell, daughters Traci Campbell, and Megan Campbell (Larry Goolsby), sons David Campbell and Jason Campbell (Sarah Campbell), grandchildren Cody Campbell-Rich, Taryn Doud, Nichole Leverett, Katelynn and Kyndle Campbell, Mylee Warren, Brody and Caliegh Campbell, Mikael, Lucas, and Logan Campbell-Goolsby, Marcus and Myyah Goolsby, Great Grandchildren, Easton and Beau Harwood, Hailey and Emma Doud, Scarlet Rich, Owen, Mia and Chase Leverett, Ellie Olson, and Presley Goolsby, brothers Gary Campbell (Sandy Campbell), Bruce Campbell, and Sister Diana North as well as his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Dale Campbell, Mother Clarice Campbell, and his grandson Joshua Rich.

A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on March 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Crossroads Community Church in Ridgecrest California. All who knew him are welcome to join in remembering the life of a truly remarkable man.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through the lessons he taught, the strength he showed and the love he shared with all of us. Rest in peace, you will be forever loved and missed.
