Denise Lynn Gossage

Denise Gossage of Ridgecrest, CA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 7, 2025 at the age of 62, after a 9 month battle with cancer. Denise was the oldest daughter of 6 children born to Charles and Marlene Tracy.

In 1981 when Denise was 18 years old the family moved to Ridgecrest, California and Charles took a job on China Lake Naval Base.

Denise worked several jobs over the years but her passion was advocacy.

She began an almost 18 year career as a domestic violence advocate here in Ridgecrest at the Women's Center in 2004. She continued in this career at the Women's and Children's Alliance in Boise, Idaho until the Fall of 2021. Denise advocated, counseled and helped protect the most vulnerable. She did her job with honor and grace and gave of herself to all her clients and coworkers.

Denise had several hobbies that included, painting, crafting and sewing. Quilting was one of her favorite things to do. Along with her trusted friends in her quilting group they made beautiful quilts together and shared a precious friendship over the years. In 1986 Denise gave birth to a set of twin boys Evan and Shawn. She married her husband Dave Gossage in 1992 and he later adopted her twin sons. Together Dave and Denise added to their family with their daughter Rebecca born in 1993 and their son Justin in 1998. Denise's children were her greatest joy!

Denise is survived by her husband Dave Gossage of Kingman, AZ, her son Evan Gossage (Aunastazia) of Fort Worth, TX, her son Shawn Gossage (Morgan) of Fort Worth, TX, her daughter Rebecca Brantley (Matthew) of Savannah, GA, and her son Justin Gossage of Ridgecrest, CA. As well as her grandchildren Ava, Peyton, Brantley, Layla, Ryder and Leighton.

Denise is also survived by her mother Marlene Tracy and five siblings. Her brothers Guy Tracy of Ridgecrest, CA, Drew Tracy (Janice) of Vancouver WA, Mark Tracy (Lisa) of Fruita, CO, Gregg Tracy (Shannon) of Knoxville TN, and her sister Jennifer Dilling (Larry) of Inyokern, CA, as well as 11 nieces and nephews.

Denise is preceded in death by her father Charles Tracy in 2010 and her sister in law Brandy Tracy in 2011.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 24, 2025 at 11:00am Calvary Chapel, 210 E Springer Ave, Ridgecrest, CA 93555
