Retired ADCS Dennis Meehan departed unexpectedly on May 4, 2025. Dennis was a cherished soul, a source of joy and warmth to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He served 26 dedicated years as an Aviation Machinists Mate in the United States Navy and retired as Senior Chief in 2007. He then worked as a government contractor supporting NAWS China Lake and was just one week shy of retirement. He met his wife, Noriko, during his Naval time in Japan and they married in Guam, 1989. They welcomed two daughters, Sara and Anna, in 1996 and 1998 respectively. As a family, they were stationed to PMRF Barking Sands, HI in 2004 and then to VX-31 NAWS China Lake, CA in 2006. Dennis lived out the remainder of his years in Ridgecrest California.
Dennis' journey through life was marked by humor, compassion, and an unwavering spirit. His radiant smile and infectious laughter had the power to brighten even the darkest days, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those around him. A devoted friend and family member, Dennis' loyalty knew no bounds. His generosity and selflessness were evident in every gesture, big and small, as he always put the needs of others before his own. He was a lover of great food, great company, Stella Artois, and fixing just about anything he could get his hands on. He is dearly missed but will live on forever in our hearts.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Noriko Meehan; his children Sara Todd and Anna Shouhy; his grand daughter Benny Todd; his brothers Brian and Terence Meehan
His celebration of life will be held at the Patriot Bar and Grill on Saturday May 31, 2025 at 11:00 am.
