Desiree Michelle Zurn

Desiree Michelle Zurn was born on June 17th, 1986, in Ridgecrest, California. Sadly, we lost our angel as she returned to her eternal home on February 26th, 2025; she was only 38 years old.

Desi was a shining light of love and hope in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was one who put herself last every time, always making sure that others were taken care of. Although her early life had its complications, she grew into a strong woman who would give you the clothes off of her back and carry you through fire before she would ever think of herself. Although she never thought of herself as one who made an impact on the world, her passing leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled.

Desi was taken from us suddenly and with very little warning. Yet, even in the fight of her life, with her body pushing her towards her inevitability, she held on long enough to hear all of her babies together one last time. Her proudest achievement was being a mother by birth and a mother by choice of four amazing children.

Desi is survived by her loving husband, Jason; her four children, Sierra (Jack), Katie (Clove), Kaydence, and Wyatt; her grandson, Ryder; her mother, Lana; her father, Rex; her sister, Brittany (and her children Ozzie, Presley, Reeze and Zander); her brother, Cameron; her grandparents, Jeff and Nelva; her stepfather Kelly and her baby brother Breyden (Boogie), as well as a host of other friends and family members.

Desi wanted to work as a thanatologist, feeling that if she were able to help people, she would be able to legitimize her existence. She never realized that she was helping so many others that there was no need to try and prove her worth. She was a talented artist and guitarist, one who could play by ear, a hard worker, and an amazing mother and wife. With her passing, Jason said, "She is and always will be the love of my life, my best friend, and the one piece that I will never be able to replace."
