Douglas Alan Plumhoff

Douglas "Doug" Alan Plumhoff passed away in his home on March 17th, 2024.

Born November 25th, 1955 in Muskegon, MI. A family man by heart, and the handsomest man by genetics, Doug came to Ridgecrest in the mid-80s, making an impact within the community that will never be forgotten. He was an accomplished and respected police officer, domestic violence counselor, naval officer, and mentor. A true officer and a gentleman. The kindly neighborhood cop from the television shows he loved growing up, who protected, served, and always helped others.  A professional and a role model who gave his all in everything he did.

Doug loved good food, good deals, and good banter. He was curious, intelligent, witty, and fun. A dedicated father, friend, and shoulder to lean on, Doug was thoughtful and generous, always taking an interest in the lives of others. He had the confidence and strength to move forward no matter what life threw his way or how plans changed around him. He was looking forward to upcoming travel, birthdays, graduations, and adventures to come. Doug will be dearly missed by all that loved and knew him. May he live on through the many lives he lived and the jokes he told.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents Marvin and June Plumhoff. He is survived by his sister Laurel "Lori" Lovegrove; children Benjamin Plumhoff, Daniel Plumhoff, Katelyn Fredette, and Amelia Plumhoff, in addition to his beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, granddogs, and grandcats.

A viewing will be held at Holland & Lyons Mortuary on April 13th, 2024 from 1:00-2:00pm, followed by a celebration of life at the Desert Empire Fairgrounds at 3:00pm.
