Elaine Marie Thomas

Mrs. Elaine Marie Thomas, age 88, of Ridgecrest, CA, passed into eternity Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

She was born June 29, 1930 and raised, in Monson, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late John and Aura Moriarty.  She graduated from Monson High School in 1947, and made her home with her family in California thereafter, having been a resident of Ridgecrest for the past 50 years.

Elaine was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Ellen McEntee; and is survived by her loving husband Charles "Chuck" Thomas, daughter, Susan Brock, son, David Cleveland, step-son, Scott Thomas, and step-daughter, Karen Sanders, grandchildren, Jennifer Celestine, Erik Victor Kunkel, Matthew McKinney, Michael McKinney, Stephanie Martinez, Jessica Luoma , Kathryn McKinney, Joseph Cleveland, Derrick Cleveland, Jeremiah Cleveland, and David Cleveland, Jr.  She also leaves twelve great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, who will sadly miss her, as well as many other family members and friends.

Elaine was a faithful member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, a wonderfully dedicated and talented homemaker, and a former telephone operator. She will be remembered for her love, kindness, and generosity for her family, her steadfast faith, her wonderful sense of humor and wit, and her adoration and care for her "honey" and husband, the love of her life.  She and Chuck enjoyed traveling in their camper throughout the western states, hiking the desert canyons and mountains,  and exploring as many new restaurants as possible.  She especially loved their Friday date nights.

A memorial mass in honor and celebration of Elaine will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 446 W. Church St, Ridgecrest Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11 am, followed with a Graveside Service at Desert Memorial Park at 12:30 pm.  Reception to follow at St. Anne's.
