Ethel R Henley

April 10, 1925 — April 24, 2020

Ridgecrest

Ethel "Jackie" R. Henley, a Ridgecrest resident since 1986, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2020, at the age of 95.

Jackie was born on April 10, 1925 in Ashe County, North Carolina.  She was the last of eight children born to Ida and William Roop.  She grew up in Fries, Virginia.  She moved to Wytheville, Virginia, in July 1945 when she married Harless "Bill" Henley.  They had two children; a son, William "Bill" L. Henley and a daughter, Dena H. Bickley.  They moved to Richmond, Virginia, in 1959.  Harless Henley passed away on August 12, 1979.

She loved her family and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She loved the Lord and was a member of Indian Wells Valley Church of Christ.  She was present for every service until a stroke took her mobility a year ago.

She was a good example of what a Christian woman is and she will be missed by all.

Jackie is survived by her 2 children:  her son William L. Henley and his wife, Holly, and her daughter Dena H. Bickley and her husband, Joseph, Sr.; 4 grandchildren:  her grandson Justin Henley and his wife Erin, her grandson Brandon Henley and his wife Jasmine, her grandson Joseph Bickley, Jr. and his wife Satomi, and her granddaughter Kim Moline; 4 great grandchildren: Jessie, Danica, Trenton, and Evie.  She loved and was loved.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a celebration of life for Jackie is planned to be held here at Ridgecrest, CA,  at a later date.
