Frankie Irene Schmeisser

Irene Schmeisser, 80, a resident of Ridgecrest, CA since 1971 died at home from cancer on May 28, 2019.

She was a mother, nanny, and great grandmother.  Irene is predeceased by her husband of 42 years Charles Schmeisser in November 2012.

She is survived by her children: Richard Caine of Ridgecrest, CA; Candyis Caine of Ridgecrest, CA; Michael Caine of Ridgecrest, CA; Stanley Caine of Tucson, AZ; Sandra Caine of Marana, AZ; and, Evelyn Parish of Sonora, CA.

Born to William and Mamie Hollis of Palestine, Arkansas; Irene was one of thirteen children (the last living of her siblings).  Born into a sharecropper family, Irene knew hard work.  After marrying Charles in 1969, the family moved to Ridgecrest from Sunland, CA following the Sylmar, CA earthquake of 1971.

She started her quilting business in the 1970's and was successful in creating great works of art that many enjoyed.

She loved to quilt, talk with people, garden, fish with her husband Charles at Lake Isabella, and she really enjoyed going to the casino.

Services will be June 14, 2019 at 10 AM at Holland & Lyons in Ridgecrest followed by internment at Desert Memorial Park.
