Friedel Taylor was born on December 4, 1929 in Mannheim, Germany to Heinrich and Rosina Strauss and raised with love by Peter and Dorothea Fogler. On March 11, 2022, surrounded by her family, the Lord called her home.
Friedel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl of 57 years, and her daughter Jean. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Barbara Arnts (Arnold Arnts) and Christina Taylor, 8 grandchildren and 18 great–grandchildren.
Friedel met the love of her life Carl Taylor while he was stationed in Germany. He returned to America and she joined him in 1948. They married on April 16 th and settled in Ephrata Washington, where they raised their children. In 2005, she moved to California to be with her daughters, after the passing of her husband. She brought much joy to the family and many caregivers who loved and cared for her.
Her service to her family, the church and the community flowed from an abundance of faith and love for God. She was the ultimate homemaker and mother while also being a managing supervisor at the telephone company. Later she dedicated her life to volunteering at a Christian bookstore, a nursing home, the hospital and teaching Bible at her church. Her faith, love for knowledge, sense of humor, and contagious laughter will forever remain in our hearts.
There will be a funeral service at Holland and Lyons Mortuary on March 19 th , 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Anyone who knows the family is welcome to attend. There will be a graveside service the following week in Ephrata, Washington where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and daughter.
