Gary Dennis Johnson

The family of Gary Dennis Johnson has gathered in heart and spirit to celebrate his life. Gary was born in Bakersfield, California on July 6, 1982 to Michele Seay and Gary Johnson. From the moment he was born, he captured a special place in his entire family's heart. He loved so many things besides his family – cats, dogs, playing the violin, singing, acting in community theater, and taking trips to scenic places. Camping in the USA and Canada was something he enjoyed very much. He spent time in Japan and all over Europe, too. One of his favorite artists was Wassily Kadinsky, and he loved listening to Apocalyptica. He loved being on the water, be it lake or ocean, and was an avid jet-skier. He also loved nature, incorporating found objects into macramé, and other crafts. He built memories for himself and others, sharing his life and joys with everyone in his orbit.

Gary passed away on October 19, 2024. He is survived by his father, his mother, and his sister, Keeley and stepmother Sandy in addition to many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death this year by his grandfather, Ken, and his partner, Jeff. Each of us will remember Gary in our own way, the fun, the light-hearted teasing, the joys, the traveling, and the gifts and talents he shared with others. We have a Gary-sized hole in hearts, and we'll always remember the baby, the child, the teen, and the man. We will always love and miss you, Gary.
