Gordon was born in Newton, Massachusetts on October 15th, 1928. He went to be with his Savior on Saturday, March 19th, 2022.
He spent his childhood in Lincoln, Massachusetts, enjoying time with family and friends. He often told stories of the boyhood antics that he participated in. At fourteen he moved to Santa Ana, California, where he met his future wife on the first day at his new school. He played trombone in a church orchestra where he got to know Estella's family, especially her brothers. They had a short courtship and married in January, 1952. The young couple settled in Orange, California, where they had two daughters and spent many happy years.
Gordon drove sand and gravel trucks for years before he changed to driving tour buses. He always had a story or a joke to keep people smiling. He loved being on the road and continued to drive up until his death.
In 2001, Gordon and Estella moved to Ridgecrest, California, to be closer to family. He enjoyed being back in a smaller town and quickly found friends here.
Gordon followed Estella in death by twenty-two days; the family takes comfort in knowing that they are together now in their perfect bodies free of all the cares of this world.
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to
his
purpose.
