Obituary

Gerald Dean Adams, 76, of Inyokern, California, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Gerald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He had a special gift for making people happy and was always looking for ways to make life a little easier for those around him. He had an exceptional talent for organizing and simplifying tasks, and he took great pride in finding better ways to get things done.

Gerald retired after more than 20 plus years as a Data Manager and government contractor. During his career at NAWCWD, he presented an idea to one of his government supervisors that ultimately became Command Reutilization and Disposal (CRuD), a project providing reutilization and disposal services for excess government property. His ability to recognize a need, develop an idea, and turn it into something that benefited others reflected the person he was—resourceful, thoughtful, and always willing to help.

But Gerald was much more than his accomplishments. He was a big tease and a wonderful jokester who loved making people laugh. He had a playful spirit and a way of bringing smiles to the people around him. He enjoyed listening to music and watching movies, and he found happiness in the simple pleasures of spending time with the people he loved.

Gerald is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanette; his daughter, Hope Warren (Dylan), and her three children, Charity Caine, Sophia, and Emma Parent; his son, Jason Jordan (Janette), and their six children, Emily Hall (Tyler), Jason Jordan Jr. (Melissa), Noah Jordan (Jordyn), Joshua Jordan, Sydnee Jordan, and Andrew Jordan; his son, Justin Lewis (Patricia); his sister, Vickie Glassmire; his niece, Jennifer Thompson; five great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Robert Meyers (Cindy), brother-in-law, Gary Meyers (Carrie),many cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Opal Adams; his cousin, Bobby; his aunt, Ruby Adams; and his parents-in-law, Howard and Tina Meyers.

Gerald leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, love, and the many little ways he made life better for the people around him. His jokes, his kindness, his ingenuity, and his ability to make people smile will be remembered and cherished by those who knew and loved him.

A memorial service celebrating Gerald's life will be held on October 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Holland & Lyons Mortuary.
