Obituary

Gordon “Dick” Richard Reymore entered the wide-open gates of Heaven on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at the age of 92. He was born on September 12, 1933 to Clarence and Evalyn Reymore in Onieda, NY. He seemed to enter the world with an immediate sense of how things work…there was nothing that he couldn’t make or fix to perfection!

Dick was the middle three children. Kenneth Paul Reymore was the oldest and his buddy in shenanigans for many years! Then came his sweet baby sister, Claire Elizabeth (Goodell), who was born 11 years later.

He spent almost 2 years in the Army, serving in Korea (1953-1955). He loved his country, came home with several medals and was a true patriot who continued his dedication by working 39 years for the Department of Defense (DoD) at China Lake, CA. He was instrumental in the quality control, design and manufacturing of many weapon systems. After retiring in 1990, his abilities were sought out by several DoD contractors, whom he would work for intermittently.

He loved the thrill of speed and racing when it came to radio-controlled airplanes, cars and motorcycles…this was soon tempered by a blue-eyed beauty, Beverly Clara Leitner, who showed him a new kind of adventure and thrill! Together they shared 70 years, 10 months and 3 days of that married adventure! Along the way they raised 4 independent, strong-willed daughters, Terry Hine (Bart), Linda Hill, Laura Reymore and Judie Foust (Frank). Soon after the daughters came, a menagerie of grandchildren: Casey Wheeler, Desiree Larson (Percy), Brittany Reed (Travis), Tiffany Stewart (Mike “Bacon”), Codi Hill, Taryn Peterson (TJ), and then FINALLY A BOY…Brennan Foust! And after that, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandbabies blessed his life even more!

Due to his passion for architecture and woodworking, he helped design and build our family home out on Brown Road in Inyokern, CA. Through this process, he taught us girls everything we ever wanted to know about mixing “mud” and grout, laying brick (in a plumb and level fashion!), staining beams, painting walls and operating every tool that was needed! He also was a master at making his own gunstocks from blanks of exotic woods…his checkering, laminating and finishing skills were unmatched!

His many interests were bowling, fishing, camping, building stuff, and then later Dad and Mom got to be enthusiastic RVers! They spent most of their golden years on the road to Alaska, New York, Pennsylvania, Nova Scotia, Branson and all the other fabulous places in between. Of course, he didn’t let any RV gather desert dust for long…he swapped them out for newer or better about as quickly as some people change their underwear! That same behavior he applied to all vehicles he owned!

Dad biggest love was for the Lord Jesus! He grew up Methodist and converted to Catholicism after marrying mom. Hence, he had his family at Mass every Sunday, and in attendance at St. Ann’s School and catechism. He was a Eucharistic Minister and served on the parish board at the All Faith Chapel on base.

He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Reymore; mother, Evalyn Reymore; brother, Kenneth Reymore; sister, Claire Goodell; nephew, David Reymore and many aunts and uncles.

Besides his immediate family mentioned above, he is survived by Bette Reymore (Ken’s wife) and their children Faye Rivera, Kaye (Punky) Turley and Matt Reymore of Las Vegas, Shannon McGlade of Texas, Michael Leitner of Ridgecrest and many, many friends from here, there and everywhere…he never knew a stranger!

A special thank you to all the staff, especially nurses and CNAs, at Bella Sera SNF who shared their love and compassion with our Dad (who was nominated President of the Resident Council who ran on the slogan “Make BS (Bella Sera) Great Again”!!) And, thank you for continuing to care for our sweet mom.
