Gwendolyn "Gwen" Joyce Belisle, 72, of Ridgecrest, California, peacefully passed away on November 28, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born Gwendolyn J. Albright on December 13, 1950, in North Island, California, Gwen was the middle child of Lt. Cmdr. Edward H. Albright and Florence U. Albright (Upson). Gwen graduated from Burroughs High School in 1969 and went on to join the United States Army National Guard in 1975. She retired from her military service as a US Army Staff Sergeant in 1995. Utilizing her unique skillsets obtained through her military training, Gwen simultaneously maintained 41 years of civil service employment for the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division as an Electronics Technician at the China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station in Ridgecrest, California.
Despite her successful career, Gwen's pride and joy was always her five children. She welcomed her first son, Adam, in 1974, followed by Chuck (1976), daughters Crystal (1979) and Karen (1982), and her "baby" Edward in 1988. Gwen was a loving Mother who was always dedicated to her children. She was their biggest supporter in everything they aspired to do in life. Gwen showered her many grandchildren with the same love and admiration she had for her children and enjoyed spending time with every one of them as much as possible.
In 1991 Gwen met the love of her life, Terry Anthony Belisle, and they both welcomed each other's children into their hearts and loved them like their own. The couple married on May 25, 2001, in Ridgecrest, California. Gwen was proud to be able to call Sarah and Susanne her daughters.
Terry and Gwen spent the rest of Gwen's life together, making the most of every day and living life to the fullest. Gwen loved going on motorcycle rides with Terry, attending swap meets, and always enjoyed picking out special gifts for her children and grandchildren. Her family will forever cherish the days they would receive an unexpected package in the mail full of the unique gifts Gwen and Terry had purchased for them during their adventures together. Gwen was a shining light to anyone who was lucky enough to have known her. She radiated positivity, hope, and humor, and she will be deeply missed.
Gwen was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Florence Albright; and her older brother Charles Edward Albright. She is survived by her husband Terry A. Belisle of the home; sister Miriam L. Miller (Scott) of Cathedral City, California; her children, Adam E. Stuebner of Paola, Kansas, Charles "Chuck" D. Stuebner of Bakersfield, California, Crystal C. Combs (Shane) of John Day, Oregon, Karen M. Stuebner of Troutdale, Oregon, Edward B. Stuebner (Madison) of Paola, Kansas, Sarah L. Belisle of Buffalo, Minnesota, and Susanne M. LeBlanc (Paul) of Ridgecrest, California, along with many beloved grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.
