Isaias Tarin Duque, was the oldest of 13 sibling. At 21 years old, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, served during World War II, he represented his country proudly, a commitment he honored for the rest of his life. Shortly after he met his future wife, Bertha. They married and started a family in Trona, CA where he was working at the local plant, and raised their four kids; Gerardo, Rosemary,Selma, and Eduardo.

During this time he and his wife opened their first family restaurant " The Duque Family" restaurant. Isaias was full of life, energetic, active, individual with many gifts and talents. At this time as well him and his wife started Trona's first women's softball league, with him as head coach and his wife as pitcher on the two teams he coached, the "Crystals" and the "Angels". In 1982 they relocated to Ridgecrest, CA where he pursued his career with China Lake "NAWS" Naval base and would retire . He and his wife opened their second Mexican-American restaurant "Mr. Taco" which they ran for 7 successful years together.

During the 94 years of life, Isaias was granted he had a list of lifetime achievements he accomplished, As a child of God and a faithful, devoted servant of the LORD, he started his everyday in his office sitting at his desk, devoting time to the LORD, with morning prayer and reading his daily scripture. Afterwards, he always had his coffee and oatmeal or eggs, which it never failed he would always end up with a coffee stain on his shirt.

Isaias had such a great funny sense of humor, he had such sayings as : "Did you pick cotton today" ? "Are you working hard or hardly working "? If you were a grand kid you heard these sayings always, he was also a prankster, every time you would prepare something to eat, he would come behind you, when you weren't looking and move your food and hide it behind a large object, so you would have to find it. Another one of his favorites to do to with his grandkids was his famous "Indian Burns".

He enjoyed traveling, playing the California lottery, (fantasy 5), he would win small here and there, but never hit the jackpot, that remained a fantasy ! He loved watching baseball especially the Anaheim Angels. Other hobbies he enjoyed was; working out, working on projects around the house and in the yard , working on his cars, he would always end the day outside on the front patio with his Pepsi and bag of butter popcorn.

Isaias enjoyed many things, but most of all he was devoted and committed to his family, he was the ultimate family man. Family was everything to him, he lived for his family, he cherished the moments with his wife, kids, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. He had  a special relationship with each and every single one of them. To all his grandchildren and great - grandchildren he was our "Real Life" super "Hero", he always set a bold, healthy, positive example for all of us.

On that night of October 20, 2022, his body grew tired and his suffering came to an end, the trumpets sounded, the Angels visited and Isaias was called home to be with his Heavenly Father. The foundation of his family and legacy will continue to live on through all those who loved him dearly. It was a great honor and blessings to have shared our lives, love and the time we had with him. He was such a special "one of a kind" soul. He will be greatly missed, truly loved, and forever in our hearts. Rest in Power, Peace, and Love, our Prayer Warrior, our Faith Fighter, long live our "IRON DUKE"
