James Hugh Milam II, a proud veteran of the Navy, passed away November 29th, 2021 at his home in Ridgecrest, California.
James was born on October 13, 1942 in Oakland, CA to father, James Hugh Milam and mother, Amelia Paredes. Jim also was lucky to have his stepmother Esther Milam in his life. He grew up in a large, loving family with three sisters: Barbara, Emma, Jennifer and eight brothers: Andrew, Armando, David, Gabriel, George, Gilbert, Jaime and Raymond.
At the age of 19, James enlisted in the Navy. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of AMSAN E-3. He served his country proudly from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1967. He then moved into the Airline industry in 1973 as a crew chief mechanic with Northwest Airlines until his retirement in 2001. James and Michelle Milam married in 2012 and began their life in Ridgecrest. He lived free and loved riding his Harley to the very last mile. James enjoyed his cups of hot coffee, camping, the outdoors, cooking and more so spending time with his family.
James is survived by his devoted wife, Michelle Milam, his children: John Milam, James Milam III, Lisa Milam Follman, Jamie Cecilia Milam Williams, Steven Milam, and stepdaughter Vanessa Fillmore. He also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren: Nathaniel (John), Alisia, Daniel, Haley (Lisa), Sarah, Scott (Jamie), Michael, Stephanie, Bridgette, Savannah, Caroline (Steven), Gianna, Bella, Grant (Vanessa) and his great granddaughter Jazmyn.
A service honoring the life of James Hugh Milam II, will be held at Hollands & Lyons Mortuary on January 22, 2022 at 12pm.
