John Dennis Johnson

John Dennis Johnson was born on February 12th, 1936 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Joseph and Hilma Johnson. He passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024 in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Kansas State University and obtained a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering before moving to Ridgecrest, California in 1979. John worked as an Aerospace Engineer with Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake until is retirement in 1996 as a faithful civil servant for 36 years.

In his downtime he spent many hours volunteering with the BLM. He loved hiking the paths and helping build benches for people to rest on during their journeys. If he wasn't at home watching sports, he was up in the mountain enjoying nature and fresh air.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty of 40 years and his stepson Robert Kern in December 2023.

He is survived by his stepdaughter Kim S Anderson and her husband Garry of St. Louis, Missouri.

There will be a graveside service Tuesday October 22, 2024 at 10:00AM at Desert Memorial Park.

In Lieu of Flowers John asked for donations to be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in his name.
