John Andrew Shoaf

Previous resident John Andrew Shoaf passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 08th, 2025 from Natural Causes. John was born on May 01, 1936 in Perryopolis, Pennsylvania to his father, George Shoaf and his mother, Clara Shoaf. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 55 years, Kathy Elaine Shoaf, (2019) Father, George Shoaf, (1983,) Mother, Clara Shoaf, (1994) and his daughter, Sydni Shoaf, (2006.) John was survived by his son of Ridgecrest, CA, Eric Shoaf, daughter, Jocelyn Hernandez of Bakersfield, CA and his four grandchildren.

John graduated from Swickley High School in Swickley, Pennsylvania in 1954 and went on to graduate with a bachelor of Arts in recreation from Fairmount State College, West Virginia in 1959. John eventually went onto work at China Lake Naval Weapons Center as the Director of Special Services for approximately 20 years until a work-related injury forced him to retire.

After retirement John enjoyed spending time with family and especially loved playing Golf. It was said that Johns favorite place to Golf was in Monterey, CA at the Pebble Beach Golf Links.

John's larger than life heart and his contagious smile will be missed by his family and so many of his freinds. Family was very important to John and his kindness and desire to leave a legacy will be felt for generations to come
