Obituary

Jonathan Hansen Perry, 28, of Ridgecrest, California, passed away on April 6, 2026.

Born on October 5, 1997, Jonathan was raised in Ridgecrest, where he built a life surrounded by friends, family, and the outdoors he loved so much. Jonathan carried a light within him that never dimmed. He was known for his happiness, his resilience, and his willingness to help anyone in need. Jonathan had a way of making every kid feel like the most important person in the world. He loved playing with them, surprising them with new toys to ride, and was always right there in the middle of the laughter—roughhousing, joking, and making memories. To them, he wasn’t just an uncle, he was the favorite—the one who made everything more fun and full of life. His big smile could light up any room, and his presence brought joy to those around him.

Jonathan had a natural talent for working with his hands and could fix just about anything with a motor. Whether it was dirt bikes, quads, trucks, or anything in between, he found passion in bringing things back to life. He loved the outdoors—fishing, camping, dirt bike riding, and racing—and was always working on a new project or building something from the ground up. He also enjoyed finding new treasures through Facebook Marketplace or friends, often trading and upgrading his latest “toys.”

He worked as a roofer for five years, where his hard work and leadership earned him the role of foreman. Jonathan took pride in what he did and was respected by those he worked alongside.

Above all, Jonathan loved deeply. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Journee, who was his pride and joy and a piece of his heart that will live on forever.

He is survived by his loving mother, Julie; father, Jimmy; grandmother, Grace; brothers, Cody, Jimmy, PJ; sister, Sarah; his daughter, Journee; and the mother of his child, Aliyah. He also leaves behind countless friends and extended family who loved him dearly.

Jonathan will be remembered for his kind heart, his generosity, his strength, and the unforgettable light he brought into the lives of others. Though his time here was far too short, his memory will live on in all who knew and loved him.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
