Joyce Mary Hayes

Joyce Mary Nelson Hayes was born in 1936, to Albert Nelson and Edith Royal. She grew up in upstate New York, but moved to California in 1959 as a Navy wife. The family moved to Inyokern in 1967, and then to Ridgecrest in the 1970s.

Joyce went to work for Civil Service, and worked in several departments and in many positions. She received awards and commendations, as well as letters for the work she did on various projects. She retired after 20 years.

Joyce leaves behind many good friends, students from her English as a Second Language Class, and those whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her sister, Betty Hazlewood Oberlin, and her children Sarah Hayes and James Hayes. She also leaves behind her grandsons, Jeremy Hayes and Jeffery Puckett, And a great-grand-daughter Reilly Blue Hayes.
