Juanita Lerma Castillo

Juanita L. Castillo 85, thirty-seven-year resident of Ridgecrest, CA went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ Tuesday December 5th at High Desert Haven. She went peacefully surrounded by her family.

Cremation has taken place, and a Memorial service will be held in Carlsbad New Mexico at a future date.

Juanita was born on June 24,1938 in Loving, NM to Ramon and Amelia Lerma.

Juanita married the love of her life Jose "Joe" Castillo on August 5, 1956.  She worked at Lakeview Christian Home in Carlsbad, NM. In 1986 Juanita and Jose relocated to Ridgecrest California. Juanita went to work at Ridgecrest Hospital then at Sierra Sands School as a paraprofessional and retired in 2002. Juanita loved to travel, read from her Bible, and spend time with family. Juanita liked to volunteer and help feed people in need. She had a devoted faith and love for her family, who will miss her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Jose X. Castillo and son Joe X. Castillo.

Juanita is survived by her children Sylvia (Phillip) Trujillo of Goodyear, AZ, Mitzi (Carlos) Santana of Carlsbad, NM, Timmy (Sandra) Castillo of Kansas City, MO, Paul (Anna) Castillo of Ridgecrest, CA and Jeff (Tammy) Castillo of Ridgecrest, CA. Her sisters Mary Holguin of Corrales, NM, and Lena (Sam) Dominguez of Loving, NM and brother Frank Lerma of Rio Rancho, NM. 15 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild all from different states.
