Kenneth Wayne Reed passed away in Ridgecrest, California on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. He was born Wednesday, June 12, 1963 at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in VA. He was a resident of Ridgecrest, CA since August 1969, a 1981 graduate of BHS, graduate of UTI for HVAC in 1982 and was working for Ridgecrest Regional Hospital as the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. Kenny was an amazing person with a huge personality and a very hard worker. He was always working to take care of his family. He loved his family and friends, Sushi from Toyko House,
Cars, Cooking and most of all being the life of the party everywhere he went.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 12 years, Kimberly M. Reed; mother, Janice M. Schorr; daughter, Elyse Reed (Daniel) of Bakersfield, CA; step-sons, Ryan Lange of Ridgecrest; Jeff Lange (Stephanie) of Lexington, IL; brother, Michael S. Reed of Ridgecrest; step-sister, Connie Conway (Gary) of Birchwood, TN; step-mom Becky Reed of WI; step-sister, Robin Reed of TX; Uncle Bill Schorr (Terri) and; cousin, Alexxis Schorr and; Sorren of Ridgecrest. He also left behind other family members and special co-workers and friends.

He had many nieces and nephews, Amber Hattendorf (Isaac/Reed), Dr. Bobbie Jean Schorr-Way (Stephen/Julius), John M. Schorr (Devon), Michael Dewhurst, Michele Rogers (Phil), Sara Berry (Scott) & family, Jamie Kennedy (Jack) & family, Joe Pounds (Lois), Jacob Spears (Ali), Justin Hinzo (Jeanette) & families, Aunt Sandy Reed, Washington, PA. Grandchildren: Joel Reed and Ellie Davalos.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet Lea Reed, father, Ira Wayne Reed, step-father, John M. Schorr, step-brothers, Brian M. Schorr, Randy C. Schorr & nephews Randy C. Schorr Jr. & Joe Dewhurst, grandparents Bruce & Helen Cleary & Ira Wayne & Dora Mae Reed.


A service to bury his cremains will be held at Desert Memorial Park, Rose Garden, December 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Ken Lewis officiating.
