IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Eugene
Smith
January 4, 1961 – March 25, 2026
Kenneth Smith passed away leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Ken was the kind of person who could light up a room with a well-timed joke and a warm smile. He had a natural gift for making others feel at ease, and his generous spirit showed in the countless ways he supported friends, family, and even strangers. His humor and compassion will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
He grew up in Hatch, New Mexico, on a farm alongside his three brothers, where he learned the values of hard work, resilience, and family. Those early years shaped the man he became—grounded, dependable, and full of heart.
Ken proudly served in the United States Navy, carrying that sense of duty and dedication throughout his life. While working as an X-ray technician for 20 years, he pursued higher education and earned his master’s degree, ultimately becoming an electrical engineer. His determination and work ethic were an inspiration to all who knew his story.
He shared a deep and loving partnership with his wife, Virginia. Together, they found joy in traveling and exploring new places, creating memories that spanned miles and years. Their bond was one of companionship, adventure, and unwavering support.
Later in life, Ken moved from Las Cruces, New Mexico, to Ridgecrest, California, where he built lasting and meaningful friendships. He was known for forming deep connections, and those friendships became an extended family who will carry his memory forward.
Ken will be remembered for his laughter, his generosity, his love of life, and the genuine care he showed to everyone around him. His legacy lives on in the stories shared, the lives he touched, and the love he gave so freely.
He is deeply missed and forever loved.
