Kevin Dewayne Johnson

September 3, 1967 — March 21, 2026

Ridgecrest

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin DeWayne Johnson (58). Kevin passed unexpectedly March 21, 2026 in Ridgecrest, Ca. He was born in Janesville Wisconsin on September 3, 1967 and raised in Freeport, Illinois. He was a man whose presence was impossible to forget. His vibrant, hyper energy was part of his charm (as you can see in these pictures), bringing laughter and lightness to those around him in a way that felt entirely his own. He had a quick humor that could catch you off guard and leave a lasting impression.

He was deeply talented in music, using it as a way to express himself and connect with others. He felt life intensely, and that depth showed through in both his creativity and the way he loved. There was something about him that stayed with you, an energy that people who knew him will always carry forward.

He is survived by his seven children Kimberly Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Megan Gordon, Nathan Gordon, Cody Johnson, Kayla May (Johnson), and Reanna Johnson; his sixteen grandchildren; and his seven siblings Alvin Johnson, Karen Hutton, Patricia Jurgenson, Terry Kramer, John Kramer, Keith Johnson, Kirk Johnson.

He is preceded in death by his mother Louise Kramer, father Harvey Johnson, sister Nancy Kramer, and brother Randy Johnson.

To his family, he was more than what can be put into words. He was a part of who they are, and his presence will continue to be felt in the moments and memories that his surviving family carry forward. He was a very kind and caring man. He always knew how to make people laugh, which is one of the greatest things he will be remembered for.

He will be so deeply missed and forever loved.
