Lillian Leaveta Williams

February 9, 1931 — January 6, 2023

Ridgecrest

Lillian Leaveta Lampkin Williams was born to Essex and Rosa Duke Lampkin on February 9, 1931 in Dublin Georgia.  She was the youngest of five children: She is preceded in death by her brother, Essex Lampkin, II; her sisters Dorothy Lampkin Pearson and Juanita Lampkin Davis.  She received her early education in Dublin, Georgia, where she graduated from Washington High School.  She attended Clafin College in Orangeburg, South Carolina for two years.  She had to drop out of college to care for her ailing mother.

Once her mother passed away, Lillian moved to Philadelphia, Pa to be near relatives.  It was there where she met and married James Thomas Williams.   They had two children, Constance Williams Zeno and Keith Oliver Williams.

Lillian worked at the 30 th street Post Office from 1959-1993.  She held numerous part-time jobs throughout her career while employed at the post office.

Lillian was a member of Triumph Baptist Church in Philadelphia since 1998 until her move to Ridgecrest, California in October 2018.  She sang in the choir at Triumph Baptist Church.  She loved singing and the Word of God, not necessarily in that order.  Her love for the Lord was evident.  She was a servant leader.  She loved ministering to others in a variety of ways.  Her heart was in her giving of her time, money and substance.  Space does not permit the telling of her deeds for others.  God knows.

She loved her family and her family loved her back.  She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Constance and Henderson Zeno of Ridgecrest, CA; her son and daughter in law, Keith and Stephanie Williams of Merritt Island, Florida; grandchildren:  Carletta Terrell of Ridgecrest, Joshua Zeno of Ridgecrest, Christine Zeno of Ridgecrest, Destiny and Hector Ramos of Titusville, Florida, Daniel Williams of Merritt Island, Florida; great grandchildren:  Destiny Terrell of Ridgecrest, Ca, Xzavien Evans of Ridgecrest, CA, Arianna Ramos of Titusville, Florida, Jonathan Ramos of Titusville, Alakay Ramos of Titusville, Florida and Asa Ramos of Titusville, Florida; sister Iona Ash of Warrensville Heights, OH and a host of with nieces, nephews and cousins.

Let not your heart be troubled:  you believe in God, believe also in me.  In My Father's house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.           John 14: 1-3
