Lois Marie Van Guilder
Born July 17, 1933 in Morrilton, Arkansas. Lois grew up on cotton farms in Oppelo, Perry and Morrilton. Lois graduated from Morrilton High School in 1952. She moved to Burbank, Ca. and worked for PAC Bell as an operator and later transferred to Phoenix, Arizona in 1958. Lois later worked at Joe Walker Jr. High School as a cafeteria clerk for 25 years from 1971 – 1996 in Quartz Hill, CA.
Lois met her future husband Phillip in 1959 and married in March 1960. In December 1960, they moved to Prescott, AZ and started their family. They moved to Palmdale, Ca. in November 1964 and to Quartz Hill, Ca. in October 1970 until Feb 2016. Lois moved to Ridgecrest in February 2017.
Her hobbies were sewing, gardening, puzzles and Mahjongg computer games. She loved to travel and most trips were to visit with our extensive family.
Proceeded in death by her parents Homer C. and Alma C. (Davis) Thomas, husband Phillip W. Van Guilder, brothers Wilburn C. and James E. Thomas, sister Myrtie L. Rundel and grandson Cameron R. Van Guilder.
Lois is survived by son John (Melody) Van Guilder, daughters Joan Van Guilder, Janis (David) Garcia, grandchildren Melissa & Monica Garcia, nephew Tommy Joe (Becky) Thomas, niece Cindy (Alan) McMichael and numerous other extended family members.
Services will be held at Bakersfield National Cemetery on February 24th at 2PM.
