Manuel Lee Morse, at age 89, went peacefully home to be with his Lord and Savior on
November 4, 2021. He was born May 21, 1932 in Durant, Oklahoma as the sixth of nine
children to Wallace and Naomi Morse. He moved to California in 1942 along with his
parents and siblings where they eventually settled in Lamont.
He met his future wife Deanie while attending high school in Arvin, California. They were
married in 1950 and celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary on October 22, 2021. Their
legacy together was in establishing a family of three children, 15 grandchildren and 13
great-grandchildren.
In 1954 Manuel moved his family to Trona, California where he was employed by American
Potash and Chemical Company. After moving to Ridgecrest, California in 1978 he
commuted to his work as a machinist for Kerr McGee Chemical Corporation in Trona until
he retired in 1993.
Following retirement he traveled with Deanie, enjoyed great family reunions, and laughed
frequently as he playfully teased, camped and fished with his children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. Family was always his priority and we are each grateful for a lifetime
of wonderful memories. He is fondly remembered by many for his gentle kindness, caring
heart, genuine integrity, unwavering loyalty and for his ever present cheerful smile.
Manuel was a man of faith, trusting in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a longtime
member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Ridgecrest, California.
He is survived by his wife, Deanie, son, Danny Morse, daughter Kathy (Tom) Williams,
daughter Barbara (Alex) Rhinehart, all of his wonderful grandchildren and greatgrandchildren,
his sister Nell, his brothers Jim and Thurman, and many more relatives; all
of whom he sincerely loved.
There will be a 10:00 a.m. graveside service on November 19, 2021 at Desert Memorial
Park in Ridgecrest, California to celebrate a life well lived, a man well loved and to rejoice
that he is at home in Heaven. In lieu of flowers please consider a Memorial Donation to
the Senior Adult Ministry at Immanuel Baptist Church.
Due to COVID 19 consideration for others, the family asks that everyone please wear a
mask to the service.
