Maria Guadalupe Ruiz

Maria Ruiz passed away on August 20th, 2023. She was born in Apozol, Zacatecas (Mexico) on October 16, 1940. She was a resident of Trona, CA and then Ridgecrest, CA for a total of 62 years.

She lost her mother at the age of 15, therefore took on the role of being a mother figure to her younger sisters. Maria got married at the age of 20 and continued to make sure her sisters were  taken care of from afar or by visiting. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and wife. Everything she did revolved around her family.

She loved gardening and it shows in her beautiful yard. She adored her baby yorkies and would often walk them or play music for them since they loved that. She also loved to cook for her family and entertain.

Maria was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Fidel, her parents Gregorio and Esther Villalobos, her siblings; Firmato, Teresa and Rebecca. She is survived by her children: Estella Ruiz, Arturo Ochoa (Lorie Ochoa), Victor Ruiz (Lynn Ruiz), Fidel Ruiz, and Jaime Ruiz. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Emily Johnson, Bianca Smith, Gabriel Ruiz, Joshua Ruiz, Arturo Ochoa, Tony Ochoa and Alyssa Ochoa, and her 2 great grandchildren, Adalynn and Arlo.
