MARILYN LOUISE WILSON

Marilyn Wilson, 83, passed away on June 9, 2026 from metastasized lung cancer. She was born July 28, 1942, in Tulare, CA, the daughter of Thurman Johnson and Hazel (Johnson) Wright.

Marilyn grew up in the Modesto, CA area and graduated in 1960 from Modesto High.

She was predeceased by her parents and step parents Earl Wright and Ruby Johnson, sisters Evelyn Gooch and Kathy Brooks. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Bill, who left to prepare the way for her on the 8th of June 2026. She is survived by her sisters, Beverly Underwood of Modesto CA, Joyce Cullen Swisshome of OR, Carlotta Lynn Ambrose of Cottage Grove OR, Teresa Griffiths and brother-in-law Richard Griffiths of Roseburg OR, daughter Merrie Giles and son-in-law Daryl Giles of Ridgecrest CA, daughter Brenda Stanfill and son-in-law Lance Stanfill of Fairbanks AK, son Joe Wilson of Fairbanks AK, grandchildren Steven Giles, Shandy Stanfill, Shaine Harris, Beatriz Sorensen, Kayli Stanfill, and Ashleigh Cliften along with their partners, and many great and great great grandchildren.

Marilyn loved God, family and teaching, serving as a minister’s wife and Sunday school teacher for 45 years in tandem with being an office manager for the Navy.

The family will hold a joint celebration of life for Marilyn and Bill at the Ridgecrest Church of the Nazarene located at 571 N Norma Ridgecrest, CA on Oct 11, 2026 at 3PM
