Marion "Frank" Pickett passed in peace on January 23, 2024 in Bakersfield, CA.
Frank is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Kathleen E. Pickett. His parents Harry Douglas Pickett and Mildred Beard Pickett. His sisters Patricia (Pat) Marshall and Sharon Pickett and his brother Douglas Pickett.
Frank is survived by his children Jeffrey Pickett (Daniele), Brian Pickett (Sharon), Darryl Pickett, Greg Lane (Olivia), Teri Mcdonald (Jim) and Kelly Valdez (Rickie) and many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild.
Frank was born on January 16, 1939 in Norfolk, VA. He graduated in 1960 from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He worked as a Chemical Engineer specializing in rocket propellants for NAWCWD where he retired after 42 years. Frank was well-known in his role and for having an innovative and creative mind. The inventions he created in his position were awarded throughout his career.
Frank loved the Lord and spreading his good word. He was the President of the Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship International.
Frank's creative and innovative mind showed in his personal life as well. He loved projects that allowed him to take various items apart. He would explore the objects, find how they worked, how they could be improved and put them back together again. He found joy in remote controlled airplanes, building ships that shot off bottle rockets and creating real life Disney scenes for his grandchildren to use during their playtime.
Frank was a beloved husband, father, papa, friend and colleague. Frank will be remembered as the pillar of his family - providing love, comfort and security whenever needed.
Viewing is Friday, February 16th from 4:00 to 7:00 at Holland & Lyons Mortuary.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17th at 10:00AM - Crossroads Community Church with cemetery immediately following, then returning back to the church for refreshments.
