On the morning of June 17, 2023, Mark E. Lamson left his Earthly body and was taken to Heaven by the Angels. He was born on September 26, 1963, to Ernest E. Lamson Jr. and Nancy (Lamson) Dragovich.
Mark (or Markie) lived his entire life in Ridgecrest, CA, but has traveled to many places in the US. He attended Richmond Special Education until he graduated at age 21. After that he worked for DART for over 30 years, at the Thrift Store as well as performing other contracted jobs. Mark made many friends at DART, and loved his supervisors and coworkers.
Mark's sense of humor kept everyone laughing. He was a happy guy and would say "Hi" to everyone. He loved working at the Thrift Shop, hanging out with his friends, parties, bowling, participating in the Special Olympics, going out to eat and late night snacks at McDonald's. The Red Sox and the Patriots were his teams! He'd watch the Superbowl every year. Some of Mark's favorite pastimes were watching The Price is Right, playing games on the computer and scratching lottery tickets. Mark was Faithful and went to church weekly, followed by a meal out with family. He enjoyed talking on the telephone with friends and family, and even telemarketers! Mark loved animals, especially dogs and cats, and would reach down to pat them whenever he got the chance. His mother, Nancy, says "By the Grace of God, I was chosen to be Mark's mom. I can see him now, so cute and smiling. His sense of humor kept us all laughing". Mark loved everybody, and they all loved him.
Mark is preceded in death by his wonderful stepfather Jack Dragovich, who stepped up and embraced Mark as his own son. Jack gently and lovingly helped care for Mark until his death in 2016. Mark is survived by his mother Nancy Dragovich, brother Craig Lamson, stepbrother Peter Dragovich (son Peter Jr.), stepsister Debbie (Scott) Robison, stepbrother Doug (Heather and their children) Dragovich, cousin Charles Lamson, the Triantifilo Family. He leaves behind many, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in CA, AZ, RI, MA, NC, NH, NJ, FL and WA… too many to be named. Mark's family sends out a special Thank You to Mark's caregivers over the years: Rene, Gena, Jennifer, Ashley, Dixie and Kathy.
Mark's service will be held at 11:00 am on August 26, 2023 at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 201 W. Graff Ave., Ridgecrest, CA.
