Martin David Hartman

Martin D. Hartman- Marty went to be with the lord on Feb. 16, 2024, at the age of 72.
He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His memorial service will be held at Holland & Lyons on February 27, 2024, at 10:00 A.M.

Marty was born on Sept. 9, 1951, to Martin A. Hartman and Helen Faith Bosserman in St. Paul, Minnesota. Marty Graduated high school and went on to attend California Polytechnic State University.  He Graduated with a Bachelor of science in ornamental Horticulture in San Luis Obispo, California on Dec. 13, 1977.  In 1987 Marty began dating and eventually married Vera Lynn Ogle.  They moved to Ridgecrest along with their son Micheal Holzworth in 1988.  Marty began working for the Parks and Recreation Department for the city of Ridgecrest.  In 1997 Marty moved up to the Parks and Recreation Supervisor for the County of Kern.  Marty and Vera Lynn were a big staple in the community by being a part of various clubs including the Desert Planters.  They also attended various Baptist churches in the area. Vera Lynn passed away in 2003 due to complications of Diabetes. Marty met Margaret Murphy in 2004 and they had an instant connection, they were married in 2005. Marty was stricken with grief once more when Maggie passed on January 18, 2009, due to complications from breast cancer.  Marty met Beth Lawlin in 2010 and the two began a relationship along with her two sons Thomas and Shawn.  Marty and Beth were married February 22, 2015.  Marty retired through the Kern county to take care of Beth due to her health issues.

Marty enjoyed a long life of ranching, horseback riding with his son Micheal and traveling with Beth, Thomas and Shawn. He was a free spirit that was wise beyond his years.  He was always open to help people and giving advice was a specialty for him.  He loved telling jokes and teasing his grandkids.  Marty was predeceased by his two wives Vera Lynn Hartman, Margaret Hartman as well as his Father Martin A. Hartman.  Marty is survived by his wife Beth Lawlin, her two sons Thomas and Shawn, His son from a Previous Marriage Michael Holzworth and his wife Missy, His Brother Kurt, his Grandkids Destinie, Trinity, Oriah, Liberty, Carley, Harmonie, and Maddie, as well as numerous Friends and acquaintances all over Ridgecrest. He will truly be missed by all, and the pain of his loss will resonate with us all.
