Micah Tyler Edwin Cercone, 18, of Ridgecrest, CA, passed away on October 24th, 2018 peacefully in his sleep.
Micah was born in San Dimas, CA on July 21st, 2000, and raised by his Great-Grandparents, George and Joyce Cercone. He attended school through the Special Education program at Richmond Elementary School, James Monroe Middle School, and Sherman E. Burroughs High School in Ridgecrest, CA. During his years in school, and his short time at Burroughs High, he touched the lives of so many people. Stories of the joy Micah shared and brought to his teachers, aides, and classmates have come pouring in, and have helped to ease the pain of the loss of his family. His contagious smile, and often heard quote of "I don't know", even though you knew he did, will live forever in our hearts.
At the age of four Micah was diagnosed with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy, yet never let it dull his passion for life. He participated in Taekwondo, achieving the rank of brown belt, played basketball on a city team, and was a video game wizard. He participated annually in an MDA camp in Central California, which was one of his greatest joys.
Micah is survived by his Great-Grandparents, George & Joyce Cercone, Grandparents Shawn and Gigi McNally, Mother Nikki Cercone, Great-Aunt Joan Gelormino, as well as Uncles and Aunts Nick & Kimberly Bert, Tracie Kelling, James & Christa Bouchie, Damon & Danelle Kelling, Daniel & Julie Kelling, Jeremy & Lisa McNally, Vinny & Brittany Martino, cousins Nicholas, Noah, & Marianna Bert, Kimbel, Trysten, & Elias Kelling, Devan, Daniel, Kellan, & Nathan Bouchie, Evan Kelling, Andrew & Austin Kelling, Aiden McNally, and his beloved poodle, Missy. He was papa's little buddy, and biggest helper.
