Patricia Sue Charlon

Patricia Sue Charlon, 80, of Ridgecrest, CA passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2025. Born on March 17, 1945, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to William and Patricia Burke. She spent her early years on Kodiak Island, Alaska, before moving to China Lake in the fifth grade. She graduated from Sherman E. Burroughs High School in 1963.
After earning her associate degree, Patricia married her highschool sweetheart, Jimmy, and moved to Long Beach where she worked as a flight attendant. About a year later, they returned to Ridgecrest, where she worked as a secretary at "the phone company." Eventually, she was able to stay home to raise her children.
Due to the untimely passing of her husband in 1999, she found herself part owner of Jim Charlon Ford until eventually selling it to family.
Patricia had a wide range of interests, with a particular passion for photography and travel. She brought the world home through her stories, photographs and postcards, which arrived from all over the globe–Antarctica being one of her favorite adventures to share.
She was a devoted grandmother who absolutely adored her grandchildren and made sure they always felt her love. Over the years, she was also surrounded by her many dogs, cherishing those four-legged companions almost as much as she did her grandchildren. She was a fun, giving, and thoughtful mother and nana. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children: Traci Charlon, Amanda Stoner and Nicholas Charlon.
Grandchildren: Ashley Sanders, Margaret (Maggie) Lundquist, Gracey Wilcox, Trey Stoner, Benjamin Stoner, James Stoner, Laci Stoner, Chloe Charlon, Caiden Charlon and Kinsley Charlon. Great-grandchildren: Grayson Sanders, Levi Sanders and Brynlee Geoppinger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin James (Jim) Charlon, her parents, William and Patricia Burke, and her brother William (Billy) Burke.
A memorial service will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church on July 23rd at 10:00 a.m., with rosary preceding at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery, followed by a reception at St. Ann's.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ridgecrest Animal Shelter.
