Patricia Lynn Wood

Mrs. Patty L. Wood (Nana) joined her heavenly father on Saturday, April 8, 2023 in Ridgecrest, CA.

Born Patricia Lynn Thompson to Jesse and Lola Belle Thompson in Trona, CA on October 5, 1955. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her sister, Nellie Thompson. Patty graduated in 1973 from Sherman E. Burroughs High School.

Patty lived her entire life in Ridgecrest and enjoyed the simplicity of a small town while raising her children. Not only did she love living in Ridgecrest, but she was also proud to live in a home built by her father with his own two hands. She worked for 20+ years at the Eldorado Motel and Lynnwood Terrace. She was the general manager of both properties and was proud to host many movie production companies. She even helped coordinate a movie being filmed on the property that starred her very favorite actor, Sam Elliot. Her motel was the pride of her career and she was well liked amongst her bosses, employees, and visitors.

Patty loved the Lord and was always reading her bible and listening to Christian music. She had a small but tight circle of friends and they were recipients of her love for having gatherings where she did all the cooking. She loved to cook for others and always went all out with every detail. She was a true animal lover and never went without a pet.

Patty was a loving and devoted Nana to her grandchildren Brooke, Sierra and Jesse Wood. She loved to take them on road trip adventures, cook for them and host holiday get-togethers. Being in a wheelchair and on an oxygen tank for many years didn't stop her from being present. She will forever be loved and incredibly missed.

Patty is survived by her children Stacey Herrera and Jeremy Wood. Her grandchildren Brooke White, Sierra Wood, Jesse Wood, and great grandchildren.
