Patrick James Hannon, a man whose life was as vibrant and dynamic as the natural landscapes he cherished, passed away on September 27th, 2026. Born on December 20th, 1964, in Redwood City, California, Patrick lived a life defined by courage, resilience, dedication, and an enduring love for the people and places that mattered most to him.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Patrick Hannon, and his beloved siblings, April and John. Their love and the values they shared with him remained a meaningful part of Patrick’s life and helped shape the man, father, brother, and friend he became.

He devoted his career to protecting the wild places he loved so dearly. Early in his career, he served on hotshot crews and with Forest Service firefighting teams, facing some of nature’s most demanding challenges with remarkable courage and determination. He then became a Federal Firefighter with the China Lake Fire Department in 1989, where he served until he retired in 2021. His skill, strength, and unwavering commitment to protecting both the land and the people within it earned the respect and admiration of those who worked alongside him. His contributions to the firefighting community will not be forgotten.

Outside of his career, Patrick was happiest in the outdoors. An avid fisherman and devoted outdoorsman, he found peace and joy in nature. Whether casting a line into a quiet lake, hiking through the forest, or simply spending time surrounded by the wilderness, Patrick was most at home among the places he loved.

Above all, Patrick cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved children, Tanner and Emily; his daughters-in-law, Cierra and Kari; his nieces and nephews; and his cherished grandson, Rowan, who brought immense joy and pride to his life. The love, wisdom, strength, and values Patrick shared with them will remain a lasting part of who they are.

Patrick will be remembered for his courage, generous spirit, love of the outdoors, and the profound impact he had on the lives around him. He lived a life of service and adventure, always carrying with him a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world he worked so hard to protect.

Patrick James Hannon leaves behind a legacy that reaches far beyond his years- a legacy carried in the people he loved, the wilderness he protected, and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
