Paul Lars Henderson

August 8, 1923 — December 10, 2019

Ridgecrest

Paul Lars Henderson II, "Kelo", passed away on December 10, 2019 in Irvine, CA after complications from a surgical procedure, he was 96 years old
Born August 8, 1923 in Pueblo, Colorado, to Paul Lars & Gladys Pearl Henderson of Pueblo, CO, second generation immigrants from Denmark.
The Henderson's moved to Santa Monica, CA where Paul graduated from Santa Monica High School in June of 1942. America was at war and Paul joined the Merchant Marines and went through both US Navy boot camp and the Merchant Marine Acedemy. He served in all theatres of combat during WWII, transporting war materials to our armed forces and our allies. After years of close calls and near miss torpedo attacks the war ended in 1945, and Paul was honorably dicharged. He settled down back in Santa Monica and began a family. Paul soon got a job as a ranch foreman, so his wife Lois and his two sons Paul Lars III and Eric Lars began ranch life in the Malibu mountains for a large ranch owner.
Paul began to be noticed for his cowboy skills and his lighting fast-draw with western six-shooter pistols. This led to roles in western movies with a stage name of ""Kelo", culminating in a co-star position in the western TV series, "26 Men", the true stories of the Arizona Rangers.  After that genre of western films faded in the US, he went on to Europe to film a few "spaghetti westerns", returning to the US to settle down once more, including returning to the cowboy life for a season, riding the range for a large cattle rancher. Eventually he retired in Ridgecrest, Caifornia.
