Pepper Jane Johnson
August 26, 1986 - September 18, 2024
It is with great sadness that we must announce that Pepper Johnson died on September 18, 2024 due to end stage renal failure. Pepper Johnson was born August 26, 1986 in Watsonville, CA. When Pepper was four months old, her family moved to Ridgecrest, CA. She graduated from Mesquite High School and completed a year of college at Cerro Coso Community College.
Pepper loved her daughter, Chloe "Ash" Hammerbacker, with all her heart and soul as Ash was Pepper's pride and joy. She also loved animals, especially her two dogs, Precious and Piddles. If she had her way, the family home would have been filled to the brim with rescued animals. Pepper was a talented artist and loved to draw. She discovered the Pacific Northwest and fell in love with it in the last year while visiting her mother and daughter during two trips. She was thrilled to be in a place of such beauty.
Pepper is survived by her mother, Saxon Johnson, and her father, Chris Johnson as well as her beloved daughter Ash, and her sister, Whitney. A celebration of life will be held at St. Michael's Church on December 11, 2024 at 3:00pm. All are welcome. Please wear colorful, celebratory clothes and come to share any heartwarming memories of Pepper that you may have. Pepper's ashes will be spread in a field of wildflowers in western Washington. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to one of these two non-profits: California Breakfast Burritos, which is dedicated to training and rehoming wild burros, or Almost Eden, a dog rescue. Both can be found on FB.
